AMISH IN THE CITY Ranked Third in Adults 18-34

UPN’s New Summer Reality Series Post Huge Ratings Improvement Over Last Summer Creating a Platform To Build Awareness for the Fall Launch

Both of UPN’s summer reality series, AMISH IN THE CITY and THE PLAYER, delivered week-to-week gains in the key demographics of adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, according to Nielsen preliminary affiliate based ratings for Aug 11.

AMISH IN THE CITY posted week-to-week ratings increases in adults 18-34 (1.7/6 v. 1.5/6) and adults 18-49 (1.8/6 v. 1.7/6), and retained 100% of last week’s total audience (4.0mil). THE PLAYER posted increases over last Tuesday’s premiere among adults 18-34 (1.0/3 v. 0.8/3), adults 18-49 (1.0/3 v. 0.8/3) and total viewers (2.33mil vs. 2.2mil).

Competitively, AMISH IN THE CITY ranked third from 8:00-9:00PM among UPN’s target demo of adults 18-34 (1.7/6), behind only ABC and FOX. AMISH IN THE CITY ranked second at the 8:30PM half hour among adults 18-34 (2.0/7), beating the Big Three and The WB.

AMISH IN THE CITY built dramatically in the second half hour in total viewers (4.2mil vs. 3.7mil), adults 18-34 (2.0/7 v. 1.5/6) and adults 18-49 (2.0/6 v. 1.6/6).

AMISH IN THE CITY is delivering triple-digit growth compared to the performance in the time period last summer (8/13/03), including +114% among total viewers, +240% among adults 18-34 and +125% among adults 18-49.

THE PLAYER is delivering double-digit improvement in its new Wednesday 9:00-10:00PM time period compared to the same night a year ago, including +15% in total viewers, +66% in adults 18-34 and +25% in adults 18-49.

Last night’s episode of AMISH IN THE CITY will be rebroadcast on Friday, Aug. 13 (9:00-10:00PM, ET/PT). Last night’s episode of THE PLAYER will be rebroadcast next week on Tuesday, August 17 (9:00-10:00PM, ET/PT).
